A roof to spread your wings again.

The most vulnerable period in a dependency treatment process occurs when returning home after intensive therapy.

Vulnerability can manifest in various ways: episodes of isolation and anxiety, feelings of shame, deep distress or despair, which too often lead to domestic or civil violence, and sometimes even suicide.

Substance use disorders have significant social, professional, familial, and personal repercussions. They cause immense suffering as well as financial, familial, and social disarray that affects family members, loved ones, and organizations.

Our mission is to ensure that any addict or alcoholic who has chosen to take charge of his or her life has access to a Cocoon home. Over the next few years, our goal is to open several houses across Quebec.

The fundamental principles of Cocoon homes

01Homes are governed democratically

02Homes are financially independent

03Relapse leads to immediate expulsion

04No time restrictions on length of stay

Connections against addictions

The homes aim to support and encourage these men and women who are taking control of their lives, so that the greatest number of them remain abstinent, find their place in society, thrive, and realize their full potential.

01Consolidate insights made in therapy

02Break out of loneliness and isolation

03Establish autonomy

04Discover the benefits of peer support and regular encouragement

05Promote new attitudes that favour recovery and increase self-esteem

06Take required time to integrate new lifestyle

Living together,
free together.

Based on the Oxford House Inc. concept, the Cocoon homes offer a living environment that provides a solid foundation for getting by.

According to one study, 87% of residents who stayed between 15 and 18 months in an Oxford home never used again.
